In the last couple days a few more $1,000,000+ homes have come on the multiple listing service which made we wonder just how many of these homes are for sale, how many have sold and how long will it take to sell this glut of McMansions?
Who would have thought! Loads of qualified buyers out there and not enough to buy! The lack of choices is leading to buyer apathy and many just deciding to stay put. As of today on the MLS there are 2,371 active listing in all of Ada county (Boise, Meridian, Eagle, Star and Kuna!).
A couple years ago I predicted there would be a housing shortage. I was not alone in this stance, others had the same grumblings while much of America scoffed.
Sometimes it feels like Boise is in a weird bubble of economic stabilization and growth. Although there are slow signs of recovery nationally Boise has become a bit of a boom town again.
Ah to just have a crystal ball! But then again with out any surprises life would seem a bit dull. The best anyone can do is take an educated stab at what life may hold so here it goes.
